More about ACE Hub:

With joint efforts of the University’s Center for Entrepreneurship, Centre for Innovation and Technology, and the Knowledge Transfer Office, the Advancing CUHK Entrepreneurship Hub (ACE Hub) was launched on 9 May 2013 (Friday) in brilliant sunshine and lively acapella music by students from the Music Department, in the covered lobby area of Franklin canteen, a popular place to meet and mingle for young people on campus.  The event was officiated by the VC and President Prof Joseph SUNG, PVC and Vice-President Prof Fanny CHEUNG, and the Directors of the three university units.  On a backdrop of inspiration and aspiration, they joined hands to seal the event with a constellation of personal attributes that make an entrepreneur: Commitment, Tenacity, Fun, Relationship and Knowledge.
ACE Hub aims to enhance the entrepreneurial culture within CUHK by giving students and alumni the opportunity to explore entrepreneurial ideas and develop practical entrepreneurial skills.  Through Education Initiative and Advisory Service, it develops and offers Entrepreneurial Toolkit and Training Workshops, bridging them with Investment Opportunities.  Moreover, with the support of local partner organizations, ACE Hub helps to connect Regional Resources and university program to assist entrepreneurs through different stages of Idea Formation, Start Up, and Growth.  These organizations include CoCoon, Hong Kong Business Angel Network, Hong Kong Cyberport, Hong Kong Productivity Council, Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks, and Hong Kong Trade Development Council, the senior representatives of which also joined the event.
In the forum after the Ceremony, three alumni entrepreneurs shared that far from solo heroes who dwell on innovation alone, the entrepreneurial journey is a social activity.  Mr. Jason Ho, a graduate from Information Engineering who started Zensis Limited in a dire local economy of 2003 during the SARS epidemic, shared that the help from local infrastructure and facilities had been indispensable for a venture that was neither backed by personal savings nor family wealth, but a determination to embrace and negotiate new challenges along the way.
